Return policy

The principle

ORIAN works are original paintings created by hand after the order is placed, in the composition and size chosen by the Client. As such, and under article L221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, they fall outside the fourteen-day right of withdrawal that applies to distance selling.

We therefore do not accept returns for a change of mind: a misjudged size, an altered decorative project, a colour that reads differently on screen, or simple regret.

This is set out and confirmed by the Client at the time of ordering.

What we do cover

The exclusion above concerns returns of convenience only. In the following situations we always step in:

Work damaged in transit

Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery to contact@oriancollection.com, with photographs of the outer packaging, the inner packaging and the work. Once assessed, we arrange professional restoration or the creation of a new work, at our expense. Where neither is possible, the work is refunded in full.

Work not matching your order

If the composition, size or medium does not correspond to your order, we collect the work at our expense and deliver the work you ordered, or issue a refund.

Hidden defect or lack of conformity

You benefit from the statutory guarantee of conformity (two years from delivery, articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). These guarantees apply independently of this policy and cannot be excluded.

Work not delivered

If a work is lost in transit or never delivered, we relaunch production or refund you in full.

What is not covered

• Variations in brushwork, texture, tone and surface inherent to a hand-painted work (see Terms of Sale, clause 2)

• Differences in colour perception caused by screen calibration

• Damage occurring after delivery: unsuitable hanging, a fall, direct sunlight, humidity, heat, inappropriate cleaning, third-party handling

• Customs charges refused by the recipient

• Normal wear and the natural evolution of materials over time

How returns work

No work may be sent back without our prior written agreement. An unauthorised return will not be processed and will be sent back at the sender's expense.

Where a return is accepted, we arrange and pay for collection. The work must be repacked in its original packaging.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within fourteen days of receipt and inspection of the returned work.

Trade and commissioned orders

Orders placed by businesses in the course of their activity, and works produced to commission (specific format, adapted palette, series for a project), are firm and final. Statutory guarantees and transit-damage cover continue to apply.
